Good that there is no TV on board!!! A very good boat for 4 persons. We enjoyed our time on board very much – only the weather could have been better. Staff is very friendly.

-Klaus Trede
The boat was spotlessly clean and well presented. An enjoyable holiday.

Lough Derg is the largest lake on the river Shannon. It is also the most southerly and some believe the best of the hire cruising waters. Lough Derg has over thirteen different mooring places for hire cruisers ranging from small piers in the middle of nowhere to busy little harbours beside the local towns and villages. There is a wonderful variety of activities for all the family on Lough Derg from fishing, sailing, swimming, walking, bird watching, pony trekking, waterskiing, golfing, childrens playgrounds and many other activities. Download our Shannon Trail magazine for more information on Lough Derg and the rest of the Shannon up to Athlone.

Lough Derg has three different counties around its shores, the Counties of Clare, Galway and Tipperary. All with interesting places to visit for the day, if you want a break from the boat. Lough Derg is the ideal place to base yourself for that 3 night short break you have been looking from as it offers such a great variety of places to visit all within a few hours motoring from top to bottom.

Shannon Castle Line the home of  shannoncruisers.com is based on Lough Derg at Williamstown Harbour half way up the Lake on the west side only 3 km from Whitegate village, so it is the ideal place to start your exploration of Lough Derg.
